If you travel between Phoenix and Tucson, and want an experience off of the freeway, then an enjoyable route is one where you stop in Florence, Arizona. From Phoenix, you will travel by the Superstition Mountains, and then head south at Florence Junction. Downtown Florence has some wonderful historic architecture, shops, and restaurants. If you have a pet that you want to walk, or just want to stretch, stop by McFarland State Historic on Ruggles Street, right across from Town Hall.
If you are traveling between Tucson and Phoenix-Scottsdale (or you live in Casa Grande), we highly recommend this efficient, friendly, simple and delicious hamburger restaurant, the renowned In-N-Out Burger in Casa Grande, Arizona. It’s just off I-10 at the new Promenade at Casa Grande.
How simple is this menu? Their food is consistent and delicious. Their service is friendly and fast. And if you remember the “old days”, you will love this place.
The weather in Tucson is getting real nice, so come down and Discover Southern Arizona.
There are truly so many places to “discover” in Arizona, and Tucson is a great place to stay as your base. Directly south of Tucson is the Santa Cruz Valley. To the southeast is Cochise County. Each is rich in history, art, culture, beauty, and great wine.
Arizona is so beautiful and diverse. So, think about coming out West this winter to DiscoverArizona.org.
One really fun place to go, almost halfway between Tucson and Phoenix – just outside of Casa Grande at Picacho Peak, is the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch. It is a family owned and operated working ostrich ranch. You can feed the ostriches and deer. Also, have fun seeing emu and miniature Sicilian donkeys close up. What is sure to bring a smile to your face is to enter into the rainbow lorikeet area and feed these birds while they land on your family and friends.
Visit the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch.
They are located off Exit #219 on Interstate 10, then follow sign and take frontage road east 1 mile directly to the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch.
