The San Marcos Record published an article called “Charter trips abound for area birders looking to get out of town“. The article fetaures Elderhostel, a non-profit organization based in Boston, is dedicated to “providing exceptional educational opportunities at a remarkable value.”
During August 23-28 Elderhostel will be taking people to Nevada and the Eastern Sierra, including Lake Tahoe. That trip will also include the Owens Valley and Mono Lake Basin’s International Biosphere Preserve.
If the cost is too steep and you would rather make your own birding plans in Lake Tahoe, then you can find “Birds of the Lake Tahoe Basin” information on California’s site, and also “Birding in Placer County“, a local’s site.
