Tucson Photographers were up early and on Finger Rock Trail, this morning, in the Catalina Mountains. It was beautiful in there after a snow storm passed through. The birds were singing away. Some of the birds spotted were Rock Wren, Orange-crowned Warbler, Lesser Goldfinch, American Kestral, Cooper’s Hawk, Phainopepla, Gila Woodpecker, Ladder-backed Woodpecker, Pyrrhuloxia, Northern Cardinal, and more.

The great outdoors just minutes away in Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Preserve
If you are visiting Scottsdale, or it has been a while since you have been up to the McDowell Mountain Recreation Park, make sure to walk the Gateway Trail (off Thompson Peak Parkway) at Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Preserve. It is not a difficult walk/hike and you will get to experience the Sonoran Desert at its best. You can also bike and bring your dog (on a leash). There is an information center with clean bathrooms too.
The weather is perfect to walk or take the tram in Sabino Canyon
